Beach Soccer on the verge of Afcon qualification

Malawi’s national beach soccer team beat Seychelles 6–2 in the first leg of their qualifier for the 2026 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations. The result puts Malawi in a strong position to secure a third successive finals appearance ahead of the return match in Salima District. Coach Willy Kumilambe cautioned that qualification is not yet assured and said the team would work on mistakes from the opening game. Reaching the finals again would extend Malawi’s presence on the continental beach soccer stage.
